Description:
This is the ultimate healing and meditation – a meditation on Gregorian chant presented in a post-classical context. Gregorian chant and piano? This out-of-the-ordinary combination has been realized. The singers are the Cantatorium, a vocal ensemble founded by Father Robert Meerhardt, a German Dominican Presbyterian, with singers from a variety of genres, from jazz to opera. Under the direction of Father Meerhard, a well-known scholar of Gregorian chant, the singing, which is produced using the oldest Gregorian chant manuscripts handed down for more than 1,000 years, is the ultimate harmony with a beautiful depth. Tim Alhoff, born in Augsburg, Germany in 1980, is a talented jazz pianist who has consistently released albums and won acclaim in Europe and elsewhere. He is also active as a composer of film music, and in recent years has released solo piano albums that fuse neo-classical and jazz, for which he received the prestigious Echo Award. Although Alhoff is active in the field of jazz, he is a great lover of Bach and is a good fit for this project. The meeting of Gregorian chant and piano creates a peaceful and contemplative music for body and soul. Sony Music
