Matteo Mancuso hails from the far-flung island of Sicily in the Mediterranean Sea in southern Italy. The island has always had a rich cultural heritage, from poets, writers, philosophers, and architects to painters and musicians. Born in 1996 and raised outside the capital city of Palermo, his lineage runs through the veins of those who hail from the region. Had his family immigrated to the United States, he might have become the biggest secret in the lineage of great Italian-Americans like Zappa, Vai, Satriani, Di Meola, Petrucci, and Gambale. What is remarkable about him as a multifaceted player, both classical and electric, is his unique technique and his use of fingers instead of regular picking. With his impressive tone, inventive sound, and humble demeanor, he is a guitarist like no one has ever seen before, and his talent is exceptional.
